Advantages of outdoor misting systems
The sweltering heat of summer is truly unbearable for many. Misting System is an effective way to reduce the temperature and add moisture to the dry air. Misting system help you to cool the outdoors, where air conditioning is obviously not feasible. A well-designed and properly installed mist system will enable you to enjoy your garden and patio even during the hottest summer months.
To those who may be less familiar, there are six different types of misting systems - Low Pressure, Mid Pressure, High Pressure line systems and Low Pressure, Mid Pressure, High Pressure Misting Fan Systems. Each type of these misting systems has its own merits and some demerits as well.
Low pressure, mid pressure, high pressure misting systems employ an evaporation technique to cool the air around misting lines that are placed along the perimeter of the target area. Water is ejected through specially designed nozzles to spray droplets of water into the atmosphere. These water droplets absorb the heat present in the atmosphere and evaporate. The heat used to change the water to a gas is sucked out of the atmosphere and the air is cooled.
Misting fan systems, on the other hand, are based on the principle that outdoor cooling works best when evaporative cooling is further intensified with parallel cooling of the moving air. The mist basically cools the air and the fan augments the cooling effect.
The chief advantage of low pressure misting line systems and low pressure misting fans are they are quite cheap and also simple to install. They all use the available domestic water pressure from your faucet and needs no extra misting pump to create mist. But low pressure misting fans are more effective for the limited area they cover than low pressure misting line systems.
Mid pressure misting line systems are also low pressure mist systems but with the addition of a small booster pump of between 120 and 160 psi. The droplets evaporate more efficiently, resulting in less residual moisture. The mid pressure misting fans are more intense than low pressure fans. They are high velocity fans with mid pressure pump of 160 psi that improves the quality of the mist over low pressure fans.
High pressure misting line systems are indeed the most advantageous - though more widely used in commercial establishments like outdoor restaurants, open fairs and amusement parks. Some high pressure misting systems use pumps that produce 1000 psi or even more to create tiny droplets that evaporate instantly.
High pressure misting fan systems are the ultimate in outdoor cooling and they cannot be improved upon further. They are decidedly more effective than high pressure misting line systems. The high velocity fan creates significant air movement to spread the cooled air across a more expansive area.
The torrid heat of summer days can make paralyze outdoor events and that is where the installation of mist cooling systems becomes advantageous. Mist cooling systems also allow for considerable savings on energy and rampantly used by various homes and commercial establishments all over the world.
Please know that you can drop the temperature on your porch, deck or patio up to 25 degrees on a hot summer day by using a simple misting system with tubes, fittings, and garden hose. Of course, depending on your geographical area, levels of humidity, and water pressure, the end cooling may vary. However, an outdoor misting system will cool the air substantially and is a worthwhile investment for your business establishment and home.
